Hello! We are RANK B, the development team of Codename: Apocalypse.

What is Codename: Apocalypse

 Codename: Apocalypse is a rogue-like deck-building game that combines role-playing and deck-building elements as one. Play as a normal civilian and try to live as usual, while an unknown doomsday crisis is approaching. Collect various cards, make your choice in different events to survive in the coming apocalypse, create your own story in this pre-apocalypse world.

Feature of Codename: Apocalypse

1) Integrating CRPG elements into rogue-like cards

The cards in the game are divided into more than 30 subjects, in relation to the corresponding knowledge point. While building the deck, players can also accumulate the corresponding skills. The skill point can lead to the appearance of extra dialog or investigation options during the story events. These options will affect the behavior and character of the protagonist, and even the enemies to be encountered in the coming battles.

2)  Non-linear Story with Multiple Endings 

Multiple story scripts will be available in Codename: Apocalypse. According to the script selected, players may experience pre-apocalypse lives caused by cult, zombie crisis, ecological disaster, alien invasion, etc. Players can challenge these scripts of different mechanics to gradually unlock the progress of the game and discover the truth behind the doomsday disaster.

Development History

We have decided the game since Nov 2021. We actually started to develop the idea in December. As some of us have schools and some have jobs, we are working on the game on a part time basis. We have a lot of ideas to make the game more interesting, and we decided to select the most core fun part to be implemented into the game. We decided to select the “contest-point based battle” to be our game’s main focus. We believe that these mechanics can be really fun and we hope that we can make this game idea come true!

Development Team

We are a team of 5 people who are passionate in creating games. We have game developers who can write programs, designers who can draw and a story writer who has been writing for years. 

Before deciding to make this game, each of us had proposed at least 1 game idea. Our ideas were quite broad in genre, including platformers, strategy games and love simulation. But we all share one single core idea —— we want to make a game with rich narration. We want the game to be able to offer excitement from the game mechanics and also the stories.

Coming Plans

We are now working on producing game assets and game demos. We will be updating our social media pages and Discords in the coming months. We are also preparing a Steam page for the game too.
